Home Minecraft Mods Rainbow Reef Mod (1.20.1) | Add Real-life Species of Reef Fish

The Rainbow Reef Mod is a new and exciting mod that adds a vibrant assortment of real-life reef fish to enhance the beauty and realism of the ocean. With 13 new fish mobs and 79 colorful variants, this mod creates lively underwater ecosystems teeming with real-life fish.

Different Fishs:

The mod adds a spectacular variety of real-life reef fish to Minecraft, bringing vibrant colors and behaviors to ocean biomes. Here is an in-depth look at the 13 new mobs:

Basslet:

Basslets are miniature fish with stunning, contrasting color patterns. They spawn in small schools and dart around reefs. Basslets have one rare variant and an even rarer version.

Boxfish:

Boxfish are uniquely shaped with a puffy, hexagonal carapace. Their silly swimming style makes them a fun aquarium addition.

Butterflyfish:

Butterflyfish glide gracefully with their long, flowing fins and small bodies. Their bright white, yellow, and black coloration stands out. When killed, they drop buttered butterflyfish toast for a quick energy boost.

Clownfish:

A more detailed clownfish mob improves on the vanilla version. These little orange and white fish are a reef aquarium staple. Their cupcake loot drop grants speed and poison effects.

Dwarf Angelfish:

Dwarf angelfish are small, flattened fish that come in a huge variety of colors and patterns.

Goby:

Gobies are tiny fish that flit delicately among corals and seagrass.

Hogfish:

Hogfish have a tapered snout for rooting around reefs. They spawn in warm oceans.

Parrotfish:

Parrotfish are sizable reef fish that spawn in large schools. At night they transform into much darker colors.

Pipefish:

Pipefish are elongated freshwater fish that spawn in mangrove swamps. They have a straight, tubular shape.

Seahorse:

Seahorses spawn exclusively in reefs and kelp forests. They swim vertically and curl their tails to anchor onto blocks.

Small Sharks:

While not a true reef species, small sharks spawn uncommonly near reefs. They come in four variants and are rare trophy catches.

Rays:

Majestic reef rays are the rarest, most coveted catch. Their wide wingspan and graceful movements inspire awe. Rays only have one variant.

Tangs:

Tang fish school together in kelp forests and warm oceans. They come in yellow, blue, and other bright colors. Four ultra-rare patterned tangs exist.

Food Items:

In addition to aesthetics, many Rainbow Reef fish provide useful loot drops. When caught in a bucket or killed, they drop edible fish foods with special properties. Basslet cookies provide well-rounded nutrition. Boxfish bread is rumored to be the best food in the game. Butterflyfish toast is coated in butter for quick energy.
Other special drops include clownfish cupcakes to speed up movement, parrotfish punch for absorption and regeneration, seahorse to cure effects, and tangy soup for glowing and water breathing. Pipefish sushi uniquely restores health without hunger. This variety of fish foods opens up new recipes and utility items for ocean-themed playstyles.
